The school of Radical Orthodoxy maintains that modernity can be explained as a poorly justified rejection of the Christian doctrine of creation, a rejection which the churches to a large extent have met with a strategy of correlation. The article investigates the relevance of this approach by applying it on the government’s arguments in favour of the so-called gender neutral marriage law that was passed by the Norwegian Parliament in 2008, and the churches official responses to these arguments, concluding that the Radical Orthodoxy approach has a high degree of relevance in this particular context.
