Call for papers - Special issue on Bullying from a pedagogical perspective

There are many different definitions of bullying in the scientific literature, and debates about what bullying is and how it could be prevented are still going on. However, there are many different factors, which affect this phenomenon. Therefore, bullying is often analyzed from different perspectives, such as psychological, sociological and anthropological perspectives. Despite of all these perspectives, the pedagogical perspective has not been largely examined, neither in the public debates nor in the research. It is important to stress that bullying in school is a complex phenomenon, which requires a broad focus on different systematic factors, including the pedagogical perspective.

Nordic Studies in Education formidler artikler, informasjon og debatt om aktuelle pedagogiske spørsmål i Norden.

Gjennom forskningsartikler og levende debatt, og gjennom informasjon om aktuelle faglige spørsmål, presenteres pedagogiske problemstillinger fra ulike samfunnsvitenskapelige og historisk-filosofiske synsvinkler.

Tidsskriftet er en kilde til informasjon om de ulike forskningsmiljøene og et Hvem-Hva-Hvor for publikasjoner, konferanser og andre arrangementer.

Nordic Studies in Education utgis i samarbeid med Nordisk Forening for Pedagogisk Forskning (NFPF), og med støtte fra NOP-HS - Nordisk publiseringsnemd, og retter seg mot pedagoger og forskere, og andre med interesse for pedagogikkfaget.

Nordic Studies in Education kommer ut fire ganger i året og tar imot bidrag på skandinaviske språk samt engelsk.

Kvalitetsvurdering

Tidsskriftet praktiserer «dobbelt blind» fagfellevurdering, hvor verken fagfellene eller forfatteren kjenner hverandres identitet. I tillegg vurderes artiklene av redaksjonen, og endelig avgjørelse om publisering foretas av ansvarlig redaktør.

  • abstract and keywords in English is included

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS Nordic studies in education

SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT

All manuscripts submitted to the Nordic Studies in Education should be sent as an attachment to nordic-studies-in-education@hvl.no.

MANUSCRIPT STANDARD

NSE accepts articles written in Danish, English, Norwegian or Swedish.

Manuscripts must not exceed 55.000 characters (including spaces). Submitted manuscripts must be checked for language, including but not limited to vocabulary, syntax and style. Manuscripts not language-checked will not be considered for review.

Use standard abbreviations. Any non-standard abbreviations (to be avoided if possible) should be explained in the text the first time they are used. Avoid abbreviations and notes in the title. Quantities and units should be expressed in accordance with the recommendations of the International System of Units (Système International d'Unités).

SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT

Submitted manuscripts should contain the following:
  • Title
  • Abstract: Provide a brief abstract of max. 100 words. The abstract should state briefly the objective of the investigation, basic procedures, main findings, and principal conclusions.
  • 3–5 keywords
  • The manuscript
  • Notes should be numerical and organized as footnotes
  • Literature references in alphabetical order
In separate documents:
  • Numbered figures and table (each one at a separate side)
  • Title page: Submit a separate title page with the following information: title, author(s) information (institution), date, number of words, and acknowledgements. 

REFERENCE SYSTEM

The journal uses APA 6th edition style guide for references.

DOI-REFERENCES

The references should always include DOI-references, when possible (DOU: digital object identifier.) The DOI-reference should be accessible by clicking at the URL. If you are not sure about the DOI-code of a reference you may search for it here (title or author name): http://search.crossref.org/

The DOI-reference should be placed at the end of each reference, like in this example:
Aas, K. F. and Gundhus, H. (2015). Policing Humanitarian Borderlands: Frontex, Human Rights and the Precariousness of Life. The British Journal of Criminology, 55(1), 1-18. DOI: 10.1093/bjc/azu086.

TABLES, FIGURES AND ILLUSTRATIONS

Each table/figure should be numbered and editable in Microsoft Word. Number tables consecutively with Arabic numerals and give each table a short, descriptive heading.

Give each column a short or abbreviated heading. Place explanatory matter in footnotes to the table, not in the heading. Explain in the footnotes all non-standard abbreviations used in the table.

If data from another published or unpublished source are used, obtain permission and acknowledge fully. Tables should be self-explanatory and understandable without reference to the text of the article.

NOTES

Notes in the manuscript should be organized as footnotes, when using regular text processing software.

Notes should be kept to a minimum and used only for comment.

REFEREE PROCESS

The journal uses double blind reviewing of manuscripts. Manuscripts must therefore be anonymized by the author(s). Front side and information about the author(s) must be given in a separate document. All explicit self-references should be anonymized.

RIGHTS

Universitetsforlaget follows the copyright agreement negotiated between the Norwegian Publicist Association (DNF) and the Norwegian Non-fiction Writes and Translators’ Association (NFFO), regarding published non-fiction works in journals. More on the agreement can be found here www.nffo.no.

Articles published in the journal will be saved and made available at idunn.no, Universitetsforlaget’s database for online distribution of journals (www.idunn.no).
