The Nordic Journal of Cultural Policy aims at creating a forum for cultural policy research in the Nordic countries and to disseminate relevant cultural policy research and information to audiences in academic communities, public administrations, cultural institutions, the media and other organisations. The journal also wants to encourage and stimulate debate on issues relevant to cultural policy.

The Journal is aimed at readers and writers who are active as professionals or researchers in the field of cultural policy in the Nordic countries. The journal publishes articles in Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and English and its editorial board consists of researchers from the Nordic countries. The Finnish Center for Cultural Policy Research CUPORE currently holds the editorship of the journal.

The Nordic Journal of Cultural Policy is an open access journal. Two issues are published yearly. Usually second of the issues is a thematic issue for which a special call is launched.

The journal publishes multidisciplinary scientific articles that present research on cultural policy from its many viewpoints. Beside scholarly articles on cultural policy, the journal also welcomes reviews, research notes, essays and debate articles. It accepts manuscripts that have not been published previously nor are being assessed for publication in another journal.

The Journal welcomes articles on a continuous basis.
