The purpose of this article is to study the effects of proposed antecedents of intention to use an online movie service. The antecedents are based on an extended version of the theory of planned behavior. Results from a survey among users of an online movie service indicate that the main antecedents of intention to use are perceived enjoyment and subjective norm. The results also find that the extended theory of planned behavior do not explain intention to use this kind of service very well. However, explained variance in intention to use varies across gender and age. Implications of the results are discussed, and alternative antecedents of intention to use online movie services are suggested.
