Nordic Journal of Visual Culture
Ekfrase: Nordic Journal of Visual Culture aims to become the leading scientific journal for studies of visual culture and aesthetic expression in the Nordic countries. The journal will present interdisciplinary updates with regard to visual and intermedial disciplines within the arts and media fields and will publish the best research within visual culture in the Nordic countries. Important goals will be to generate new insight, to encourage debate, and to create a vital arena for future discussions about visual culture and aesthetics in the Nordic countries. Ekfrase will be a trendsetter and form future studies of visual culture.
Ekfrase will publish two issues per volume. Every issue will contain peer-reviewed articles, book reviews, and interview and debate material. The target group is researchers, teachers, and students within all aesthetic disciplines at Nordic places of study, specialist and research libraries, and other relevant institutions. The journal is owned by the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen and is published with financial support from the Nordic Publishing Committee for Journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Nomadikon Project.
